It is believed that it will bring good luck for the New Year.
Songkran falls on the hottest time of the year in Thailand. It comes from Sanskrit and means 'a move or change'.
A game called Saba is played by the
people on this occasion. In this game people build pyramids of sand call
ed chedis on the riverbanks and put on a colored flag on it.
