During October to December, millions of mackerel arrive at
the Gulf of Thailand's estuary in track down of food
and grow into fully created mackerels, or the so-called pla thu sao. These
mackerel not simply variety good but are favourable and nutritious,
particularly those from the Mae
Klong River
in Samut Songkhram, which are also known as pla thu na ngor khor hak (mackerels
with chiefs facing downward) since they are so high their necks have to be
arched so they can fit in regular-sized bamboo baskets.
