Eating mackerels festival

During October to December, millions of mackerel arrive at the Gulf of Thailand's estuary in track down of food and grow into fully created mackerels, or the so-called pla thu sao. These mackerel not simply variety good but are favourable and nutritious, particularly those from the Mae Klong River in Samut Songkhram, which are also known as pla thu na ngor khor hak (mackerels with chiefs facing downward) since they are so high their necks have to be arched so they can fit in regular-sized bamboo baskets.

Until December 25, food enthusiasts are invited to the "14th Mackerel Eating and Mae Klong Famous Products Festival" held round object the Provincial Hall and Muang Samut Songkhram Municipality's medicinal garden by the public and private sectors, below the subject "Sufficient Eating and Living".

The function attributes various mackerel platters from renowned provincial restaurants, an exhibition on the provincial way of life of Mae Klong residents in locations such as the fisheries, Mae Kong Railway Station and Mae Klong Market, a photo exhibition, a moderate consumption forum, plus the mackerel fan club. There are also regular shows, storytelling, cookery contests and selling of souvenirs, from which a component of the moves will be distributed to flood-relief efforts.
